The 2024 Mazda CX-50 has a 98 cubic-foot passenger cabin with two rows of seating for up to five adults to travel comfortably. The S Select, S Preferred, and S Premium have black half-leatherette seats. On the other hand, choosing the S Premium Plus and higher trims brings leather seats in black or terracotta shades.
A power-adjustable driver seat and heated front seats are standard on all trims except the base S Select trim. The S Premium Plus and higher trims also get a power-adjustable passenger seat and add ventilation for both front seats.
All CX-50 trims have a leather-wrapped steering wheel, gear shifter, and dual-zone climate control with a pollen filter. They also get carpet floor mats, front and rear cup holders, and charging ports for both rows. An overhead console with LED map lights and a sunglasses holder is also standard. The rear-seat center armrest includes a tray with a covered storage bin. Moreover, buyers can choose an optional power-sliding panoramic moonroof.
The 2024 CX-50 range comes with a 31.4 cubic foot trunk. You can also increase this by split-folding the rear seat backs. Thus, you can get up to 56.3 cubic feet of cargo space.
The 2024 Mazda CX-50 continues to be a stylish and distinctive vehicle with Mazda’s signature Kodo design language. All variants come with LED headlamps and LED daytime running lamps.
At the rear, you’ll find dual exhaust outlets, and there’s a power liftgate with programmable lift height on some trims. Buyers can also pick from several alloy wheel choices, ranging from 17 to 20 inches. Moreover, a temporary-use spare tire is standard.
The CX-50 range comes in seven colors. However, some are trim-specific.
Every 2024 Mazda CX-50 comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine in naturally aspirated or turbocharged guises. The S Select to S Premium Plus trims are naturally aspirated and have 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Meanwhile, turbo trims get the more powerful turbocharged variant of this engine. It is rated to deliver 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque on 87-octane unleaded pump gas. However, it can produce 256 horsepower and 320 pound-feet on 93 octane premium gas. In addition, independent testing has timed the turbo engine at 6.6 seconds in the 0-60 benchmark.
The 2024 CX-50 range has all-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic gearbox. Some trims also include steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for manual gear shifting.
Mazda’s Intelligent Drive Select system is standard across the range. It offers regular and off-road modes. For turbocharged variants, it adds a towing mode. Turbocharged variants can tow up to 3,500 pounds, while naturally aspirated variants are rated for 2,000 pounds.
